Armed robbers in the wee hours of Tuesday invaded a house in Kubwa, a satellite town in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and during their operation raped a 15-year-old girl in the same room where other family members were tied up.
When our reporter visited the victims, they were reluctant to give the report because they were traumatised by the robbery and sexual assault.
A source told our reporter that the attack occurred between 3am and 4am in the Pipeline area of Kubwa after three men, one of them armed with a gun, knocked on the door of the family’s house.
He said when member of the family opened the door, the three men pushed their way into the home, forcing the five residents into a bedroom and tying them up, except a four-year-old boy, and ransacked the house, taking whatever they could.
City News further learnt that the only girl child in the family, a 15-year-old, was sexually assaulted in the bedroom where all the other family members were tied up.
The source said the matter had been reported to the police.
However, when contacted, the FCT police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, said she was yet to be briefed about the incident.
