Eid-el Kabir: Osun police promise adequate security, urges Muslims faithful to observe COVID-19 guidelines

Osun State police command said its will provide adequate security for the safety of lives and property of the entire residents of the State as the Muslims faithful celebrate Eid-el Kabir.

This was contained in a statement signed by police spokenperson, SP Opalola Yemisi on Wednesday, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital, said the police has put all necessary security measures in place before, during and beyond the festivity.

The Police Command urged the people of the State to observe all Covid-19 rules and guidelines especially social distancing and use of face mask as they prepare to celebrate the EID-EL KABIR.

According to the statement,” The Commissioner of Police, Osun State CP Undie J. Adie, wishes to inform the general public that, the State Police Command has put all necessary security measures in place to ensure this year’s EID-EL KABIR is celebrated peacefully.

“Sequel to the Covid-19 virus pandemic, Muslim faithful are advised to adhere strictly to State Government’s directive on the use of yidi praying ground.
As they go about their legitimate businesses at this period, citizens are advised to be security conscious. They are to report any suspicious movements to the Police, give prompt and useful information in case of any infraction of the law.
