The Council of Imams in Osogbo and Olorunda Local governments has thrown its weight behind Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, the governorship candidate and Imam Kunle Jimoh, the deputy-governorship candidate of Accord .
In a statement issued by Imam Rasheed Sulaiman, the Secretary of the group also known as Waliuthabau, said the decision was taken because of the integrity of the two candidates.
He added that, another major reason why the Imams queue behind the duo was because the Accord deputy governorship candidate was the Chairman of the group before his emergent as Ogunbiyi’s running mate.
“Imam Kunle Jimoh was the chairman of Waliuthabau in Osogbo and Olorunda Local governments. He is honest man, trustworthy and diligent.
“Alhaji Kunle Jimoh is also a pious Muslim, although he can never tolerate nonsense. If you vote for you, you votefor Islam.
“We are using this opportunity to appeal for all Muslims in Osun state to please vote for Accord during the Saturday’s election”, the statement reads.
