The All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, says he has relocated to Abuja.

Tinubu, who is the strongman of Lagos politics, operates from Bourdillon drive in the Ikoyi area of Nigeria’s economic capital.

Dubbed the lion of Bourdillon, the high and mighty visit his Lagos residence for political consultation, among other activities.

However, when he met his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Atiku Abubakar, at the VVIP lounge of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Monday, Tinubu said he was now based in the nation’s capital.

“Are u going to Lagos?, ” Atiku asked. Responding, Tinubu said, “I have moved to Abuja”

Despite their political differences and the heated campaign rhetoric, the duo smiled at each other as they exchanged pleasantries under the watchful eyes of their party chieftains.

Atiku and Tinubu have a longstanding relationship. While Tinubu was governor of Lagos between 1999 and 2007, Atiku was vice president.

Atiku, who fell out with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in the bid to succeed him, later clinched the presidential ticket of Action Congress (AC), a party that Tinubu was instrumental to its formation after the political “Tsunami” that hit Alliance for Democracy (AD) governors who were elected in 1999.

The duo are both founding members of the ruling APC, where Atiku contested the 2014 presidential ticket but came a distant third after Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, now the Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

President Muhammadu Buhari clinched the ticket and went on to win the 2015 election which goes into history as the first time an opposition party would unseat a ruling party in Nigeria. Buhari defeated former President Goodluck Jonathan who was seeking a second term.
