IDU Announces Commencement of 2023 Ilobu Day Celebrations

The leadership of Ilobu-Asake Development Union, the apex organization of Ilobu sons and daughters, is thrilled to announce the commencement of our highly anticipated 2023 Ilobu Day Celebration. This annual event serves as a platform to showcase and celebrate the vibrant and diverse culture of Ilobu.

The Ilobu Day Celebration will commence on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 and run through the week till Sunday 12th of November, 2023.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever before, offering a wide range of activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Highlights of this year’s celebration include:

1. Community Outreaches: A dedicated programme has been cloned to support the persons with disabilities in our midst and give them a sense of belonging. This is part of the current IDU vision to develop human capital in our community. The healthcare programme, which was birthed last year will also be consolidated upon. These two programmes will be holding on Tuesday, November 7th.

2. Cultural Performances: In order to immerse ourselves in the richness of our Ilobu cultural heritage, special cultural Programme will be held at the Palace of Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Asiru Olatoye Olaniyan II. The event promises to produce captivating performances featuring music, dance, and theater. It will also showcase a diverse array of talents, underlining the true essence of Ilobu traditions.

3. Interactive Workshops: Engage in educational and interactive workshops designed to inspire and engage participants of all ages. The Ilobu National Students Union will be holding this on Saturday, November 4th.

4. Fun-filled Activities: These include sporting events that will be held at the playing field of St Paul’s Grammar School.

The IDU invites all sons and daughters, residents of Ilobu, friends and well-wishers from across the globe to join us in celebrating the spirit of togetherness, unity, and diversity that defines our community. This event aims to foster stronger connections, build bridges across generations, and showcase the incredible talents that make our community unique. The Union also solicits both material and financial supports towards successful hosting of this year’s celebration.

More information about the 2023 Ilobu Day will be provided on Monday 4th November 2023 at the world press conference, to be addressed by the IDU National President.

Signed
