In actualizing the ambition of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in becoming the president of Nigeria in the next year general elections, some of the house of assembly candidate under New Nigeria Peoples Party in Osun are set to hold mega rally for him.

This is aside the house to house campaign which they have started in canvassing votes for Tinubu who they described as an harbinger of hope for Nigerians.

It could be recalled that four National Assembly candidates of the party dumped their presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso in September 2022 and drummed support for Tinubu.

Out of many reasons given then was their dissatisfaction with the leadership of the party at the National level, coupled with the inability of the party stakeholders to work in accordance with the principle of justice, law and undemocratic running of the party.

Speaking on behalf of the party’s House of Assembly candidates in Osogbo on Monday, Alhaji Afolabi Muideen Abayomi said they have since realized that the party’s present structure in Osun state lacks vision of a New Nigeria aspires by citizens.

Afolabi stressed that no preparation whatsoever in selling their presidential candidate, national assembly candidates and house of assembly candidates to the people of Osun in less than 2 months to the commencement of general elections.

According to him, during their house to house campaign, it was discovered that Osun people are so determined to have Asiwaju Tinubu as their president and canvassing for any other candidates may be an effort in futility, hence, their decision to stick to Tinubu.

Afolabi however said, in collaboration with other National Assembly candidates who earlier dumped Kwankwaso, nine house of assembly candidates are set to organize a mega rally for Tinubu where masses of Osun would be convinced on why they should support APC candidates.

Both the NASS and State assembly candidates eulogized the Secretary, Tinubu/Shetimma Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, for always giving them listening ears and for embrassing them having discovered their ability to deliver Osun for Tinubu.

Some of these House of Assembly candidates include: Afolabi Muideen Abayomi (Ifelodun), Opeyemi Amoo (Ife North), Babalola Timothy (Ila), Adelowokan Festus (Ilesha west), Ibrahim Adebisi (Ilesha east), Owoduni Emmanuel (Atakumosa east /west), Adekehinde Modupe Omolola (Oriade) and Odeyemi Tumininu ( Obokun).
