A Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Tein Jack-Rich, on Friday, assured Nigerians that his administration, if elected in 2023, will not take loans, pledging to also create 20 million jobs on his first day in office.

Jack-Rich said his government would not borrow one kobo throughout his tenure, if elected president next year.

The multi-billionaire business mogul and philanthropist stated these at a media chat where he formally declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election.

The APC presidential aspirant, who claimed to have organised prayers for President Muhammadu Buhari when he fell ill, expressed gratitude to God that the President is now healthier than ever.

According to Jack-Rich, “I will create smart jobs and will develop the oil and gas industry and optimise the oil and gas in the country.

“My presidency will strengthen our value system. We will create 26,000 jobs in each LGA on the first day in office.”

He added that if the opportunity materialises for him to lead the nation in 2023, he would ensure the creation of about 20,124,000 jobs on his first day in office.

“I will make it happen. When I create 26,000 direct opportunity jobs on the first day in office in the 774 LGAs, within one year, poverty will flee,” he said.

The philanthropist and oil and gas mogul further stated that he had plans for the old, the young people and everyone.

He stated, “For the millennials, we need to create infrastructure that will help them to develop digital technology. You need a president that can engage the east and the west economy.

“You need a president when you travel outside the country, you will be respected. You need a president that will ensure creation of jobs, a president that can grow the economy.

“A president that can create deep private sector engagement. A president that can think for you, not himself. You need a president that will ensure the wealth in Niger Delta is not for the region alone but a president who can utilise it for the benefit of all.

“You need to have control of your economy and the control of your children. They hang in trees while those who use them have abandoned them. With the Jack-Rich presidency, we will produce more, plan more and be respected in the community of nations. We will strengthen our currency and create jobs for youth,” Jack-Rich said, adding that he sees hope in Nigeria.

“All I see is hope. All I need is the right legislation to back up my plans. We will not make policies that will not be backed up with action.”

Jack-Rich added that without Buhari, he wouldn’t have been in the APC fold, stressing that the President had given them the platforms to showcase their ability.

He noted that the president of Nigeria is by extension the president of the black race.

He stated, “All these good ideas will be a mirage if we did not get the right leader to take over from Buhari.

“I will not take a single loan throughout my Presidency,” Jack-Rich said, adding that, “We will produce what we will consume. God has given us all we need to consume.

“I will fly to Zamfara, Kano, Kaduna and every part of the country if we have issues. I will fly there. I will not send anybody if they have issues, I will fly there.

“You my brothers that are engaging in banditry, my brothers in the North East, we are all one. I don’t believe in assault or missiles. I believed in economic base bombadmen. Youths, boys and girls are doing wrong things to survive. That’s because the opportunity has shrunk.

“The best way to stop all these crimes is the oil and gas and I am in that industry and we can do it. Everything that I worked for will go to humanity.”

The presidential aspirant said that the reason Nigeria had been having a running battle with spiralling inflation was because the country was not consuming what it produces.

“That’s why you need a game changer. Believe in my visionary leadership whose heart is for the people. I will make Buhari proud, I will make Nigerians proud because I am for humanity. Yahoo boys have a gift to be developed but they engage in such ills because they have been abandoned. I am telling you, because my heart is for you, I will do what is right,” he said.

The Akwa Ibom State Government has paid N830 million for the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) for students in public secondary schools in 2022.

Commissioner for Education, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet, who spoke on Friday in Uyo during the briefing of principals, supervisors and other examination functionaries for the 2022 WASSCE at Community Secondary Commercial School, Aka Offot, stated that Governor Udom Emmanuel was committed to a better future for every Akwa Ibom child.

Etiebet added that Emmanuel has been consistent in the payment of tuition fees, subventions, WASSCE, and other basic education-related requirements.

She urged key players and stakeholders in the education sector to collectively employ strategies and modalities in ensuring examinations are free from malpractices and other negative vices.

The Commissioner for Education said that the government has moved the performance template this year for students writing WASSCE to score a minimum of five credits including English Language and Mathematics from 80 to 90 per cent.

She said: “In the last three years, the analysis conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) shows that students in Akwa Ibom State have improved consistently and consecutively in their WASSCE results.

“This has exceeded the target Governor Udom Emmanuel gave for 80 per cent of students writing WASSCE in the state to score a minimum of five credits in subjects including English Language and Mathematics.”

Also speaking, Deputy Registrar and Zonal Coordinator for WAEC zonal office represented by the Senior Internal Auditor of WAEC, Mrs Faith Ihediwah said the body was committed to adding value to the educational goals of its stakeholders.

According to her, improvements in the activities of the body to include e-Certman, collection of certificates by candidates at choice locations, and the prompt release of results.

She stated that statistics show a noticeable decline of reported examination malpractice cases and prayed for the cooperation of all stakeholders for the trend to continue.
