Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard advances to second round of U.S. Open qualifier
Bouchard converted six of 10 break points, with Lui winning just 14 per cent of points on second serve.
The 29-year-old Bouchard, ranked 216th in the world, will take on either Dayana Yastremska or Heather Watson in the second round.
The U.S. Open will take place Aug. 28 to Sept. 10 at Flushing Meadows in New York.
