15M Nigerians to Benefit From National Safety Net Programme Scale Up – Osun Programme Manager

Osun state programme manager, state Transfer Unit, Mrs Adiatu Bashirat Temitayo, has described the National Social Safety programme scale-up, flagged off by president Bola Tinubu as another laudable programme to eradicate poverty in the country.

Mrs Adiatu stated this during a high level stakeholders engagement meeting held in osogbo,the capital of Osun state.

According to her the meeting was to create awareness and sensitize stakeholders for better understanding of NASSP-SU,build and maintain productive relationships among stakeholders and facilitate effective participation in programme implementation.

The success of the programme depends on the active engagement and collaboration of all stakeholders and the state Transfer Unit, hence their involvement “Eighty participants,from the nine geo political zones, thirty local governments and area office were involved in the stakeholders meeting” Besides representatives of the National Identity Management commission, National orientation Agency are also invited for maximum sensitization.

Mrs Adiatu Bashirat Temitayo applauded the decision of the federal government to provide fifteen million Nigerians with twenty-five thousand naira monthly,for three months in order to alleviate the inconveniences caused by the ongoing economic reforms.

Speaking at the meeting,the commissioner for Federal Affairs who doubles as NSIP Mrs Adenike Adeleke described the meeting as important.

Mrs Adeleke who was represented by the ministry permanent secretary,Mr Adelani Aderinola urged the participants to take the meeting serious so that residents of Osun state will benefit maximally from it.

Also speaking on behalf of the permanent secretary ministry of Economic planning budget and development Mr Lateef Adebayo expressed conviction that the meeting will further widen the horizons of the stakeholders on NASSP-SU.

Dr.Adesola Adetoyese is the head of operation ,state operation coordinating unit,in his lecture took the participants on some of the challenges in getting vulnerables registered.

He pointed at misconception,urbanization and disloyalty as of the factors which the stakeholders but be weary of.

He also noted that SOCU,deals with register and not Automated teller machine cards.

Among those who grace the programme are Osun state coordinator,SOCU,Alhaji Ahmed olabamiji ,local government desk officers, representative of the permanent secretary ministry of youths affairs, Mrs.Odediji representative of permanent secretary, ministry of women,children and social affairs Mr.Rufai Adebowale.
