Osun 2026: Ex- speaker Owoeye, Kujebola, Elder Odeyemi Describe BOA as Most Qualified to Lead State
The political momentum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leading governorship aspirant for the 2026 gubernatorial election, His Excellency Benedict Olugboyega Alabi (BOA), continues to gather strength as he stormed Ilesha Federal Constituency on his ongoing statewide consultation tour.
The immediate past Deputy Governor of Osun State was received with warmth and enthusiasm by party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters who pledged solidarity with his governorship ambition.
BOA, who led his campaign team to the residence of APC apex leader in Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Elder Kunle Akanni Odeyemi, expressed his gratitude for the unwavering loyalty of party members in Ijesa land.
He passionately appealed to leaders across the constituency to rally behind his ambition, assuring them that he would never betray their trust if given the opportunity to serve.
Alabi emphasized that his four years of experience as Deputy Governor have equipped him with competence, capacity, and humility to govern Osun with love and accountability.
Speaking during the consultation, APC leaders reaffirmed their confidence in Alabi’s leadership qualities. Hon. Niyi Ojo, Chairman of APC in Ilesa South, welcomed the former Deputy Governor, stressing that party executives present at the meeting would take his message of hope and unity back to the grassroots.
However, Baba Oni, who spoke on behalf of leaders in Atakumosa East and West, commended Benedict Olugboyega Alabi for consistently valuing elders, youths, and stakeholders in his engagements.
He described him as a man of integrity who has always respected party supremacy and stood firmly behind former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola until the stage was clear for his own ambition.
Also lending his voice, the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, described Alabi as a trusted brother and dependable ally.
He reiterated that reclaiming Osun from the opposition must remain APC’s collective priority, noting that BOA’s humility, discipline, and political sagacity make him a worthy successor.
Owoeye prayed for divine favour upon Alabi’s aspiration and affirmed that the party’s eventual decision would remain supreme, but emphasized that BOA’s candidacy is strong, credible, and widely acceptable.
In his goodwill message, the APC State Treasurer, Hon. Femi Kujebola, attested to Alabi’s character and loyalty, recalling their long-standing friendship and his personal experience with him while in office as Deputy Governor.
Kujebola stated that BOA has always demonstrated fairness, respect, and maturity, even in his consultations, never speaking ill of fellow aspirants.
He described him as a true party man who, if given the ticket, would not disappoint the APC family or the people of Osun State.
In his remarks, Elder Kunle Akanni Odeyemi, the host and APC apex leader in Ijesa South, endorsed Alabi’s aspiration, stressing that he possesses the best profile among all contenders.
Odeyemi recalled that BOA had first indicated his interest in the governorship as far back as 2017 and has remained consistent, patient, and principled.
According to him, Alabi has learned, served, and sacrificed for the party, making him not only the most qualified aspirant but also the most trusted choice to lead Osun back to prosperity.
