Osun 2026: Oyetola Consultative Forum Endorses Oyebamiji’s Candidature

…Oyebamiji’s impeccable trackrecords unmatchable, says Omoworare

No fewer than 1,500 Local Government and Ward Coordinators of Oyetola Consultative Forum, OCF, on Wednesday endorsed the candidature of the leading gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO.

The political group pledged to mobilize enmasse and vote massively to ensure Oyebamiji’s emergence in the proposed party’s primary and forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.

This is even as the former Deputy Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olanike Omoworare declared unflinching support for Oyebamiji’s candidature, saying his trackrecords remain unsurpassable among his peers.

Speaking during the inauguration of the Local Stakeholders and Ward Coordinators of the group, the convener of the Forum, Hon. Olanike Omoworare, said the initiative was designed to strengthen grassroots mobilization for Oyebamiji’s governorship aspiration within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the state approaches next governorship election.

Omoworare, the first female Deputy Speaker in Nigeria and who is the current Board member of the newly established Southwest Development Commission, SWDC, averred that the collapse of the OCF for Oyebamiji was a noble initiative and collective decision by every member of the Forum.

According to her, the Forum which initially was established to resolve internal party disputes has now expanded its role to building political structures from state to polling unit levels across the State.

Omoworare said, “Oyetola Consultative Forum, OCF, was established specifically for former Governor Oyetola’s second-term bid. Initially, we were established to resolve disputes within the party and ensure that everything was going well. Now, we have added to this because we are working at every polling unit to ensure that we are ready for the primaries.

“We are just getting started. We are going to train everybody to mobilize within the party towards the primaries. We have started it, that’s why we are holding a meeting with the ward coordinators. We have at least 3 coordinators per ward. We also have at the polling units across the state. We are resolute to train our coordinators at the wards level so as to train those at the units level. We are here today to inaugurate 1500 coordinators across the state who will later inaugurate coordinators across the polling units.

“As you can see for yourself, the venue is filled to the brim and part of what we are doing now is to make sure Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji becomes the flagbearer of the party. We are ready for primaries even now, but we’ve just started. We have about 1,500 coordinators already, and everybody has their own people, which shows how many we are. We have over 15,000 people and each of our people can boast of 10 persons and if you multiply that, you know what it means.

“The choice of Oyebamiji is noble and worthwhile. We decided to pitch tent with him having seen the qualities he’s endowed with. To us, continuity is vital. Oyebamiji has been the commissioner of finance twice and don’t forget he was Managing Director, Osun State Investment Company Limited, OSICOL. He has been in the system for a very long time. When I was the Director General, Osun Liaison Office and we needed vital information to advance the cause of the state, he was there for us.

“Osun needs someone like Oyebamiji who has integrity, someone that does not have a case with EFCC and others. We don’t want controversial people to be Governor of the state, that is why I think he’s the best candidate. For us, he has won already because the people of Osun know him more outside the party than within.”

In his remarks, former member, House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulgafar Amere, described Oyebamiji as a unifying figure who has been engaging with APC members most significantly elders, youths and women within the progressive fold.

Amere expressed confidence in the fact that Oyebamiji’s inclusive approach and leadership qualities have made him the ideal candidate to win the primary and main governorship election in the state come 2026.

An APC chieftain, Otunba Femi Aborisade, urged party members to rally round Oyebamiji to deliver the APC’s goals in 2026 saying he has shown the desired capacity and wherewithal to take the party to victory.

According to him, Oyebamiji is one of the vibrant politicians who understand the needs of Osun citizens.

He added: “Considering the antecedents of Bola Oyebamiji, we discovered that he is a very prudent and hardworking man who has the capacity, capability, competence and wherewithal to take Osun to the promised land come 2026. He understands very well what Osun people really need and is ready to make provisions for every requirement of Osun citizens.”

APC chieftains in attendance include; former members Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Awolola, Hon. Adekoyejo Bamidele, former Commissioner for Science, Innovation and Technology, Prince Babatunde Olawale, former Senior Special Assistant Assistant on O’MEAL, Mrs. Folake Olaniyan, Osun APC Welfare Director, Deaconess Sola Ayangbile, Hon.
