Osun Poly Management proscribes Sign Out ceremonies, As Rector Alabi spits fire

The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has reiterated that it has proscribed the Sign Out ceremonies of final year students at the end of the ongoing second semester examination in the institution.

The proscription was announced in a memo released on Tuesday by Registrar of the institution, Mr Abiodun Oloyede.

According to the memo, the decision became necessary to prevent unforseen and unimaginable anti-social behaviours which may affect lives of the students.

Also, the Polytechnic Rector, Alhaji Kehinde Alabi, while fielding questions with journalists in Osogbo on Monday evening stressed that “the Management would not tolerate any celebration of the ‘Sign-Out’ fiesta at the end of the examination in order to prevent any form of anti-social behaviour among the students.

Alabi declared that “we have observed that the sign out activities is always riddled with series of unimaginable anti-social behaviors, which have not allowed them to do during their active studentship in the school.

“It is our responsibility to prevent lives of the students, though, adequate security measures have been put in place, security operatives have been invited to the school, any student caught in the unholy act of the Sign Out would be apprehended and dealt with accordingly “, the reactor enthused.
