Osun Poly Students to commence examination Monday 15th September

…As Management proscribes FYB and Sign Out ceremonies

The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has declared that the full time students of the Institution shall start their Second Semester for 2024/2025 Academic Session examination on Monday 15th September, 2025, just as it proscribes the Sign Out ceremonies of final year students at the end of the examination.

This is as the management of the Institution has suspended the ongoing Final Year Brethren (FYB) celebration on the campus of the Institution.

The suspension was announced in a memo released on Monday by Registrar of the institution.

According to the memo, the decision became necessary due to the inability of students to conduct themselves in an orderly manner during the celebrations.

The statement reads in part:
“This is to inform all full-time students that the ongoing Final Year Brethren (FYB) celebration in the institution has been suspended with immediate effect. The suspension is due to the inability of the students to comport themselves in an orderly manner during the celebrations.”

The management further directed all full-time students to proceed on examination break in preparation for the forthcoming second semester examinations.

The memo also confirmed that the 2024/2025 second semester examinations for full-time students of the institution will commence on Monday, 25th September 2025, as earlier scheduled.

The students have been instructed to vacate the institution’s premises with immediate effect and ensure they complete all examination registration formalities before the commencement of the examination.

In a related development, the Management also said celebration of “Sign Out” ceremonies by the students at the end of their examinations would not be tolerated by the management. While speaking yesterday, the polytechnic Rector, Alhaji Kehinde Alabi said “the Management would not tolerate any celebration of the ‘Sign-Out’ fiesta at the end of the examination in order to prevent any form of anti-social behaviour among the students.
