UNIOSUN Gets TETFund N3.8bn Senate Building, Three other Iconics Projects

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund(TETFund) on Wednesday commissioned N3.8billion Senate Building and three other projects at
Osun State University, Osogbo.

The commissioning, which formed part of activities marking the university’s 15th convocation ceremonies, was performed by the Chairman of the TETFund Board of Trustees, Hon. Aminu Masari.

Masari said “We are assembled here today for the commissioning of 4 iconic projects sponsored by TETFund, whose total cost is N3,822,542,676.40.

“From the start of TETFund interventions to this university shortly after its enlistment in 2006, the Fund has allocated a total of N14,107,175,623.11, out of which a total of N10,554,366,446.14 have been accessed, leaving a balance of N3,552,809,176.97, most of which is already committed.”

He commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for retaining the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Odunayo Adebooye, and his management team, noting that their leadership ensured the delivery of the projects despite economic irresolution and price fluctuations.

He assured that TETFund would continue to support Osun State University and other beneficiary institutions with infrastructure, research, skills development and entrepreneurship initiatives aimed at making them globally competitive.

He urged the management of UNIOSUN to maintain and protect the facilities, noting that the projects are not cheap to come by at a time many institutions are competing for infrastructural needs.

Masari reiterated that TETFund is resolved to ensure that interventions are sustained and improved as much as possible to enable institutions undertake bigger, more laudable and impactful projects that will make them become globally competitive.

“We shall continually engage with our beneficiary institutions towards ensuring the delivery of iconic and impactful intervention projects in subsequent intervention years.”
