NANS Southwest Applauds ACP Shola Oladele for Exemplary Humanitarian Response to Road Accident

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has showered praises on Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shola Oladele, Area Commander of Sango-Ota Police Area Command, for her outstanding act of humanity and professionalism in responding to a recent road accident in Ota, Ogun State.

In a statement signed by the Assistant General Secretary of the Zone, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, popularly known as BILLIONCODES, the association described ACP Oladele’s prompt intervention as a “reflection of genuine public service rooted in compassion and responsibility.”

According to eyewitness accounts, a pedestrian was reportedly hit by a commercial motorcyclist around the Onipanu area of Ota. In the chaos that followed, ACP Oladele, upon being informed of the incident, immediately mobilised her officers to transport the injured victim to a nearby hospital. Upon arrival, she discovered a delay in treatment and personally paid for the victim’s medications to ensure immediate medical attention.

Comrade Adeyemo commended the officer’s decisive action, describing it as an inspiring example of empathetic and responsive leadership in law enforcement.

“ACP Oladele’s conduct represents the true spirit of community policing leadership that acts with both authority and heart.

“In a society where indifference often overshadows duty, she has reminded us that humanity must always come first,” he said.

He further encouraged other officers across Nigeria to emulate her approach to service delivery, which prioritizes human life and dignity above all else.

“Her selflessness reinforces our belief that there are still officers committed to the welfare of the people they serve,” he added.

The NANS Southwest leadership reiterated its dedication to building stronger partnerships with ethical, student-friendly, and community-driven law enforcement officers.

The statement emphasized that the association’s ongoing collaboration with responsive security personnel like ACP Oladele is crucial in safeguarding students and promoting peace across campuses and communities.

“We believe Nigeria will progress faster when compassion becomes a core value in public service.

“ACP Oladele’s action should not only be celebrated but also studied as a model for effective and humane policing nationwide,” he noted.
