Speaking on Tuesday at a press conference as part of activities marking OSPAA 31st anniversary, National President of the alumni Alhaji Yakub Adebayo described the anniversary as a celebration of resilience, unity, and sustained progress.
Adebayo said the association was moved out from being a smaller group operated by few individuals to global association which will allow all alumnus at home and abroad to contribute their quota.
He noted that over the past three decades, the Association has evolved from a small network of graduates into a dynamic body connecting professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders in various sectors within and outside Nigeria.
The President commended Ospoly which was established in 1991 for its continued role in shaping Nigeria’s technical and vocational landscape.
According to Adebayo, “A major highlight of this year’s celebration is the unveiling of the multi-million-naira 1,500-capacity Alumni Amphitheatre and the new School Gate Project-a bold symbol of our collective commitment to supporting infrastructure and enhancing the learning environment at our alma mater.
“As we celebrate 31 years of shared history and collective achievements, we also recommit ourselves to shaping the future of technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
“OSPAA will continue to stand as a strong pillar for Osun State Polytechnic, Iree-supporting academic advancement, infrastructural development, mentorship, and opportunities for students and alumni alike.
“I encourage all alumni, friends, partners, and well-wishers to join us in this celebration. Your presence, participation, and support serve as inspiration as we continue to build an Association rooted in service, unity, and excellence” he said.
Rector of Ospoly, Comrade Kehinde Alabi, while addressing members of OSPAA at his office commended the association’s leadership for the successes it has recorded in maintaining the good image of the school.
Rector Alabi assured OSPAA of the institution management’s commitment of continued partnership and support to the association in advancing it’s programs for the development of the school.
