2026: Returning Osun to Progressive Govt for Genuine Development Nonnegotiable, APC Chieftain, Tunde Faleye Declares

…As Falex Foundation doles out food items to over 10,000 households in Ijesaland

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun State and immediate past Managing Director, Osun State Investment Company Limited (OSICOL), Dr. Tunde Faleye on Wednesday declared that return of Osun to progressive government remains nonnegotiable in view of the genuine developments being experienced in many APC ruling states in the country.

Dr. Faleye asserted that it is time for Osun residents to return APC to government next year in order to align with the mainstream development under the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This is even as Falex Foundation, a non-governmental organization distributed food items to over 10,000 households in Ilesa, the headquarters of Ijesaland.

Faleye who is the founder of Falex Foundation, made the statements while fielding questions from journalists at the annual get-together end-of-the-year meeting of the Foundation in Ilesa.

He implored Osun residents to vote wisely as the state enters election year saying it has become imperative to oust the incumbent government that has practically mortgaged the state by its focusless and visionless policies that had taken Osun aback since 2022.

According to Faleye, the current administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke has failed the residents of the state as seen in its palpable mal-administration and malfeasance in handling critical sectors that have become moribund since its emergence.

He said for the state to experience genuine and real development, thus the state must align with the government at the centre by returning Osun to progressive fold.

Dr. Faleye urged residents to support aligning with national activities, saying, ‘We enjoin the good people of Osun to do all within their ability to ensure we come to the mainstream of activities in Nigeria.’

He eulogized the shift of allegiance by other states due to President Bola Tinubu’s policies, stating that ‘Osun shouldn’t be an exception.’

In gis words: “I want to use this opportunity to appreciate our revered President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for doing very great jobs concerning the situation of things particularly in stimulating our economy in the country. This time last year we knew how much we were buying a bag of rice, we knew how much we were buying a bag of beans but due to his policies that are beginning to yield results, things are now coming down and the economy is stabilizing every now and then in Nigeria. This shows quality leadership and purposeful government that prioritizes the welfare and general well-being of the citizens.

“We just want to enjoin the good people of Osun to do all within their ability to ensure that we come to the mainstream of activities in Nigeria. You agree with me that almost states that were in opposition before now are coming to the progressive fold just because of the good policies and good governance being demonstrated by President Bola Tinubu, Osun too shouldn’t be an exception.

“The government we have currently in Osun, is a government that prioritises its own self preservation against public service, a government that see its own benefits first ahead of what supposed to be the welfare of the populace, we have a situation where the resources of Osun rather than being used for public services are being used for self preservation, the resources in Osun rather than being used in developmental stride are being used for cosmetological display, concentration of resources and projects in one particular side of the state.

“You will agree with me that the current government led by Senator Ademola Adeleke would say it is doing a project, but go and look at the project, measure what is the quality of the project they are doing? what is the value for money we are getting from this project they gave us? About 6kilometer of road in Ilesha between the palace of Owa and international breweries at the express was done at the contract cost of N2.7billion per kilometer. And this is not a virgin road and if you even try plying the road which they have constructed, you will see the poor quality of such road, a road that if by the time we have intensive rain,no one knows what may happen to such road judging by the kind of quality of material used, no doubt, their roads can’t survive it.

“But God has blessed us in the state, that we now have a beacon of hope, we now have a man that has the genuine care of the people at heart, by the special grace of God with the help of God and the help of party faithful, we have been able to have a candidate in person of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebanji popularly called AMBO. As we all know, AMBO is APC candidate that would take Osun to the next level, he is experienced, he is exposed, he is a man with genuine concern for development and progress of the state. AMBO is learnerd and he has been able to work both in the private and public sectors which makes him to distinguish himself.

“He just resigned as the Managing Director of Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority where he performed excellently well to an extent that when he was going as a result of the new assignment he want to come and face in Osun, the President of the country has to commend him specially for his performance, that is what we have in state to lead our party -APC to victory come August 8th, 2026.

“I want to also believe that people of Osun are wiser now we know better now, because everyone of them knows that this current administration has not done well with the people of the state, rather than care for their welfare, Adeleke has decided to cater for his own personal needs because how do you explain a situation where a governor will feed himself within six months with N1.7billion only for you to released N160million on primary health care where thousands of lives are to be saved, go to our schools, there are no teachers when this administration was coming in, it sacked teachers, health workers, OYES youth corps that were engaged by the immediate past administration of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

“The immediate past administration engaged some professional teachers through a very rigorous exercise but immediately Adeleke came in, he politicised everything, sacked them and send them away up till the moment we are talking, go to our schools there are no teachers. They came up with a policy then, say that they want to employ some teachers, they collected money from them up to over 200million was collected from people till tomorrow no single individual was given any appointment.

“We are having a very good allocations coming from the federal level, we should now use the opportunity while other states are using their own to develop and cater for the lives of their children, we were using our own to feed,to parting. This is the time for Osun to turn from personal interest to public interests, this is the time for Osun to take a turn from a situation where we would now be wasting our money on irrelevance. We need to start using this money to develop and to start to secure the future of the people in Osun state”, he added.

Speaking on the significance of the Falex Foundation annual get-together end-of-the-year meeting, the Chairman of the Foundation, Hon. Ayodele Ogunjobi, said yhe foundation has been very supportive to its members sincere it creation.

According to him, the Foundation has been distributing food items to nothing less than ten thousand residents in Ijesaland annually.

“This is one of our numerous programmes in Falex Foundation, annually we used to gather our members together especially the aged to give them Christmas and New Year foods and we bless God that this year is not abandoned as a result of one or two challenges, we still make it with our people. As you can see, over 10,000 will benefit from this gesture and if you look at the impressive turnout, you will agree with me that nothing less than 10,000 households will benefit this year. This goes beyond our Foundation’s membership, we extend the olive to many people particularly less privileged and downtrodden in Ijesaland”, he added.

A royal father, Aloringbon of Ilorigbo Agede-Ijesa, Oba Abiodun Esan Makanjuola lauded the founder and leadership of the Foundation for their consistency and commitment to human development.

Some of the beneficiaries showered encomiums on the founder of the Foundation for impacting greatly in people’s lives just as they pledged to vote massively for the return of progressive party in Osun State come 2026 gubernatorial election.
