EAPEAN President Urges Peace, Responsible Labour Practices, National Unity at Christmas

The Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria (EAPEAN) has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and responsible labour practices as Christians across the country celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

In a Christmas goodwill message issued on behalf of the Association, the President of EAPEAN, Amb. Chief Nzeribe Okegbue, PhD, described the Christmas season as a solemn period for reflection on love, sacrifice, and service to humanity, values which he said are urgently needed in Nigeria’s socio-economic space.

Amb. Okegbue urged employers, private employment agencies, workers, and government institutions to use the season to renew their commitment to fairness, professionalism, and mutual respect in the world of work. According to him, harmonious industrial relations remain critical to job creation, economic growth, and national stability.

“Christmas reminds us of the virtues of compassion, justice, and selflessness. As stakeholders in the labour and employment ecosystem, we must continue to promote decent work, protect workers’ rights, and uphold ethical standards in recruitment and employment practices,” he said.

The EAPEAN President also commended the Federal Government and relevant regulatory agencies for ongoing efforts aimed at sanitising the private employment sector, stressing that stronger collaboration between government and licensed private employment agencies will further enhance compliance, transparency, and global best practices.

He encouraged EAPEAN members to remain steadfast in supporting national development by providing quality employment opportunities, building capacity, and aligning their operations with both local regulations and international labour standards.

Okegbue further called on Nigerians to pray for peace and security across the country, expressing optimism that with collective responsibility and purposeful leadership, Nigeria will witness improved economic prospects in the coming year.

He concluded by wishing EAPEAN members, partners, and Nigerians at a peaceful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year, assuring that the Association remains committed to advancing the interests of employers while promoting decent and sustainable employment for all.
