Mobile Phone, Gadget Sector Now a Key Driver of National Commerce

The National President of the Association of Mobile Phone and Allied Products Traders of Nigeria (AMPAT), Hon. Musa Mamsa, has described the mobile phone and gadget sector as one of the strongest forces shaping Nigeria’s modern economy.

Speaking on Thursday during the inauguration of the Osun State Chapter executives of the association Mamsa said mobile technology now drives critical aspects of daily life, including communication, digital trade, financial inclusion, and national security.

According to him, the sector has expanded into a major commercial pillar supported by millions of traders, technicians, distributors, and innovators across the country.

Mamsa noted that AMPAT was established to protect the interests of these stakeholders, promote ethical business practices, and unify the industry under a credible and organized structure.

He added that the association is committed to ensuring that every trader whether in a metropolitan market or a rural community has a voice, support network, and pathway to growth.

The AMPAT President commended the Osun State chapter for demonstrating exceptional commitment to the association’s mission.

He said, “The mobile phone and allied products sector has become one of the strongest pillars of commerce in modern society. From communication to digital trade, from financial inclusion to security, mobile technology drives the engine of today’s world. And at the heart of that engine are the hardworking traders, technicians, distributors, and innovators who make up AMPAT.

“To protect the interests of mobile phone and gadget traders, To promote ethical business practices, To organize the industry under a unified and credible structure, And to ensure that every trader whether in a big city or a small community has a voice, a support system, and a pathway to progress.

“Despite challenges over the years including the global pandemic-our members in Osun have remained resilient, united, and focused. The commitment demonstrated by the Osun State Chapter has been inspiring, and I commend every member for standing firm,” he added.

Meanwhile, the outgoing Chairman of the Osun State chapter of the Association of Mobile Phone and Allied Products Traders of Nigeria (AMPAT), Elias Abdulhakeem Adeyinka, expressed confidence that the association will play increase its role in the economic and social development of both Osun State and Nigeria in the years ahead.

Adeyinka said, “We aspire that in the years to come. AMPAT will contribute meaningfully to the economic and social development of Osun State and Nigeria through impactful developmental projects.

“We are committed to creating an enabling environment for all who engage or wish to engage in the mobile phone and allied products business. It is our dream that Osun State becomes a hub of reliable, secure, innovative, and prosperous phone and gadget trade in Nigeria,” he said.
