Osun 2026: Accord Party Vows to Petition Lawyer Over ‘Fabricated Suit’, Affirms Unity Ahead of Guber Primary

The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has vowed to petition Abuja-based lawyer, Daniel Edeachi, before the Legal Practitioners’ Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) over what it described as a fabricated and misleading lawsuit filed in the name of the party.

Chairman of the Osun Accord Caretaker Committee, Pastor Victor Akande, in a statement on Friday, accused Edeachi of gross misconduct, lack of professionalism and failure to conduct due diligence before filing the suit referenced as FCT/CV/4955/2025, which was reported by Punch Newspaper.

Pastor Akande dismissed claims contained in the suit filed by one Oliver Bitrus alleging that a Federal High Court had recognized Prof. Chris Imumolen as National Chairman of the party.

He further described as “fictitious” the claim that a certain Chief Okey Nwosu was suspended as Deputy National Chairman, insisting that no such individual ever occupied that position in the party.

According to him, “Our party is ready and not distracted. We held our NWC meeting earlier this week and just two days ago, NEC, the highest decision making organ of our party constituted a caretaker committee for Osun state which I am the chairman.

“NEC also approved the electoral guidelines for the 2026 Osun State governorship primaries and established an Electoral Committee for the exercise and passed a vote of confidence on NWC headed by our National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem, and maintained that there is no faction in the party.

“As affirmed by our National Chairman, Accord will not tolerate any individual whose actions or utterances seek to undermine the harmony, stability, and unity of the party.

Discipline remains a core value of our political family, and we will apply it firmly whenever necessary to preserve the integrity of our collective mandate. I urge all our members and supporters to remain focused as the party will ensure a seamless process in the forthcoming primary election” he concluded.
