Osun APC: ‘Oyebamiji’s Emergence, a Round Peg in a Round Hole’ – Tunde Faleye
The immediate past Managing Director of Osun Investment Company Limited (OSICOL), Dr. Tunde Faleye (Falex), has warmly congratulated Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, on his emergence as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
Dr. Faleye described Oyebamiji’s victory at the party’s primary election as “a round peg in a round hole,” noting that it reflects the confidence of party members in his capacity, competence, and leadership pedigree.
Faleye, who succeeded Oyebamiji as Managing Director of OSICOL and served between 2017 and 2023, expressed delight at the peaceful, transparent, and rancour-free conduct of the primary election, describing it as a true reflection of the ideals and internal democracy that the APC stands for.
In a personally signed congratulatory statement, Faleye expressed strong confidence in Oyebamiji’s political sagacity and leadership qualities, stating that they would propel the party to victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
He commended the leadership of the party for what he described as a seamless primary exercise that has become a source of pride to APC members across the state and beyond.
He prayed that God grants the party continued strength and imbues its candidate with the wisdom, resilience, and wherewithal required as the journey to victory begins.
“I wholeheartedly felicitate my boss, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), on his emergence as our party’s flagbearer. This feat is well-earned and a testament to your virtues of humility, competence, integrity, loyalty, dedication, commitment, and genuine concern for the good of others.
“My boss, I celebrate you and give glory to Almighty Allah for this milestone. I also commend our leaders, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; former Interim National Chairman of our party, Chief Adebisi Akande; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola, CON; National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda; National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru; members of the APC National Executive Committee; Osun APC Chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal; the State Working Committee; party leaders and faithful members, for their steadfastness and unflinching support that culminated in this successful primary,” Faleye stated.
Faleye also applauded other aspirants who participated in the primary for their maturity, loyalty, and respect for party supremacy, noting that their conduct contributed significantly to the peaceful outcome of the exercise.
According to him, the time has come to strengthen the internal mechanisms of the party while sustaining unity, peace, and harmony, which he described as the fulcrums of the APC.
“I appeal to all party members to see AMBO’s emergence as a collective victory and a call to duty. All hands must be on deck to return the APC to power in Osun State. Enough of visionless and performative governance.
“We must do everything within the ambit of the constitution to rescue our dear state from the drift towards total collapse under the current administration. This is the time to unite, reconcile, and build a formidable political front for victory. We must rise above grievances and personal interests.
“I am confident of victory, and I strongly believe in AMBO’s capacity to reposition Osun State and deliver the future we all envisioned,” Faleye assured.
