Osun Country Club Donates N1 Million, Food Items to Orphans

…Calls on Well-meaning Nigerians, Institutions to Support orphanage homes

A non-governmental group, Osun Country Club, has called on well-meaning Nigerians and institutions to come to the aid of orphanage homes in Osun State.

The NGO on Monday donated food items and one million naira cash gifts to the Our Lady of Fatimah Orphanage home in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun State.

Speaking shortly after the presentation of the gifts to the management of the Our Lady of Fatimah Orphanage home, the President of Osun Country Club, Chief Abiola Falayajo, urged individuals and society at large to extend their hand of giving to the less privileged, saying that government cannot do it all alone.

Falayajo said that the members of the club came to the orphanage home support the beautiful work the carer and the proprietors of this Orphanage has been doing.

He disclosed that they will ensure that organization support all the Orphanage home across the state.

According to him, “We came here to appreciate God and to appreciate those people that have been looking after the less privileged in our society.

“To the glory of God, we’ve been able to provide some support. We believe that this will be an ongoing thing, that is why we all decided to come here, to come and support the beautiful work the carer and the proprietors of this Orphanage has been doing. This is an annual event for us, actually our maiden event at Osun
Country Club.

“Every year we will be going Orphage Home across Osun state not only in Osogbo, next one will another city or town. We believe that God will give us the grace opportunities to touch lives in Osun State. We will encourage the society at large to follow in our steps to support Orphage Home across the state.

“The government can actually still come in the area of infrastructure and possibly the subvention but we can leave everything for the government alone that’s why our organization Osun Country Club is here today and encourages individuals and institutions to follow in our footsteps” he added.

One the committee members of Osun Country Club, Hon. Sunday Akere commended the management of the Orphanage home for taking care of the orphans under their watch.

Also speaking on behalf of the proprietor of the Orphanage home, Mrs Elizabeth Akinlotan appreciated the Osun Country Club for their kind gesture and support for the kids.

Earlier, members of the Project Planning and Design Committee, a subcommittee of the Project Planning and Fundraising Committee, Osun Country Club, had visited their permanent site of 10 acres.
