The Progressive Frontliners (TPF), a group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the leadership of the party to consider the 2026 governorship ticket for Osun West Senatorial District.
The group, through the state Coordinator, Ajijola Ayodeji said that the party have a better chance to reclaim Osun State from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) if West region of the state considered in forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Ayodeji disclosed that the Osun West senatorial district has numerous individuals with the potential and popularity to win the 2026 election for the APC.
According to him, “As we celebrate this New Year, I am honour to state the passionate yearning of our group-which is to appeal to the leadership of our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider Osun West in our collective bid to reclaim Osun State from the grip of PDP in
2026.
“Over the coming months, our members will actively engage with communities across Osun State and tirelessly craft a comprehensive vision for this aspiration. It is evident that the Osun West aspiration will be a reflection of our mutual hopes and a roadmap to put progressives back on the right track.
“It is time for the progressives in their aim to provide opportunities for all, to give Osun West a special consideration in the spirit of egalitarianism and fairness- being a region that has never been favoured in consideration for this post since its inception.
“The West agenda having started to gain momentum is the only aspiration that if considered can be referred to as being built on a pedestal of the principles of inclusion, equity and fairness.
“As we journey toward the 2026 gubernatorial election, the aspiration of the Osun West agenda will be at the forefront of our campaign.
“We seek to energize our communities, inspire the the party in gubernatorial polls despite its potential and contributions to our party successes and against all odds.
“Allocating the party ticket to this district this time around would address this imbalance and promote inclusivity, empowering Osun West to fully participate and lead in the development of our state alongside other districts.
“From an electoral strategy standpoint, zoning to sun West will invigorate our support base, motivating both the party faithful and local communities. This action would demonstrate that the APC values every zone within the state equally, thereby rallying widespread support and enthusiasm, which is crucial for a successful election outcome.
