In a significant development ahead of the 2026 governorship election, the Osun Youth for Good Governance has thrown its weight behind Benedict O. Alabi (BOA), the immediate past Deputy Governor of Osun State, as a capable and worthy leader for the esteemed office.

The social-political group, in a statement signed by its State Coordinator, Oladokun Majeed, described BOA as a seasoned politician with a wealth of experience in governance and leadership.

Majeed noted that BOA’s leadership would uplift citizens’ lives through sustainable policies and initiatives that foster economic growth, create opportunities, and enhance living standards for the people of Osun State.

According to Majeed, BOA’s wealth of experience in policy-making and implementation positions him uniquely to excel as governor, driving initiatives that will improve the lives of Osun citizens.

Majeed appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its stakeholders to recognize and reward BOA’s loyalty to the party.

Majeed disclosed that BOA has consistently demonstrated 100% loyalty to the party, and his unwavering dedication deserves recognition and reward.

He said, “We are pleased to express our unequivocal support for Benedict O. Alabi (BOA), a seasoned leader with extensive experience in governance and politics in Osun State. His impressive background and ability to navigate the intricacies of Osun politics make him an outstanding figure worthy of our backing.

“We, therefore, throw our full weight behind BOA, confident that his leadership will bring about positive change and development in our great state.

“Our dear state, Osun, requires the expertise of a financial expert to rectify the structural issues in spending under the current administration of the PDP. However, Benedict O. Alabi has the capacity (skills, experience, and expertise) to address these financial issues.

“We humbly appeal to the President, His Excellency Bola Tinubu; our esteemed leader, Chief Adebisi Akande, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy; His Excellency Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, National Chairman of our party; Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje; and the Agba-Osun caucus to recognize and reward the unwavering 100% loyalty of Benedict Alabi (BOA) to our great party,” the youths group appeal.
