As part of effort to consolidate the continued agitations for the zoning of governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC to Osun West Senatorial District in the forthcoming governorship election in the state, the leaders and members of the party in Irewole Local Government Area have implored the party leadership both at the state and national to concede the party’s gubernatorial ticket for the zone provided the immediate past Governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola is not contesting.
The APC stalwarts and members wholeheartedly threw their weights behind the noble “west agitations” thus far just as they reaffirmed their readiness to work tirelessly in order to coast the party to victory come 2026 gubernatorial poll.
The APC loyalists in the Council further pledged their unalloyed support, loyalty and readiness to work in unison with all strata of the party’s organs in a bid to dislodge Governor Ademola Adeleke come 2026.
The Irewole APC loyalists, made of the Elder’s Forum, Local Executives; Irewole Local Government Chairpersons; Forum of Councillors, Ward Chairmen; Ward Executives, Ward Youth Leaders, Ward Women Leaders, Ward Secretaries, Polling Units Coordinators among others made the appeal on Thursday at a mini- rally held in Ikire, Irewole Local Government headquarters.
Speaking at the occasion, the APC Irewole Local Government Chairman, Hon. Arimiyau Owoade, acknowledged the tremendous contributions of the party leadership in the state and at the national level in building a virile, versatile and formidable party that would rescue the state from the shackles of socioeconomic, political, financial and executive recklessness characterized Adeleke’s government.
He urged the party’s leaders to consider the zone in the interest pf fairness, equity and justice if the Minister is not running for Governor saying this would further motivate the people of the zone.
“We are appealing to our leadership to conder the agitation for West Senatorial District to produce the next governor in the state”, he added.
The party leadership and members in the local government therefore reiterated their commitment to unravel the misery behind the gruesome murder of the late Irewole Local Government Area Chairman, Hon. Remi Abass who was killed some weeks ago at the front of the Council.
