Adekunle Gold Makes History As First Artiste To Sell Out Wole Soyinka Centre In Lagos

Singer Adekunle Gold has made history as the first musician to sell out the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Theatre, Lagos.

The feat was achieved on Friday, December 26, 2025, when the singer filled the 3,560-capacity venue for his concert.

In recognition of the milestone, Adekunle Gold was on Thursday, January 1, 2026, presented with two plaques, one acknowledging him as the first artiste to headline and sell out the iconic theatre, and another awarded to the management and record label responsible for organising the event.

The concert featured performances by Olamide, while other prominent entertainers, including Yinka Ayefele and Adewale Ayuba, were also in attendance.

Taking to his Instagram page to celebrate the achievement, Adekunle Gold expressed gratitude to his fans for their support, saying, “Thank you all for a great end to 2025.”
