Adeleke Empowers Artisans in Osun

The Osun State Government on Wednesday trained members of Association of Vulcanizers of Nigeria with the distribution of free tyre pressure gauges and cash grant. The initiative is part of empowerment programmes of the state government to increase grassroots economy in the state.
The training programme was organised by the Ministry of Cooperatives and Empowerment in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Osun State command to sensitive members of the association on new method of carrying out their daily job.
The Governor said, the training and empowerment programme is one of the ways the state government used in removing osun residents from poverty, adding that the state has contributed to the grassroots economy through the ministry of Cooperatives and Empowerment.
Adeleke who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, said the programme is timely which would add to participants’ skill and knowledge to be more professional in their job. He promised the state government’s commitment to the plight of members of the association with a view to make their job more easier.
Speaking, the commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, described the training and empowerment programme as another milestone in the history of the state.
According to him, the ministry has continued to develop and enhance grassroot empowerment programmes through people driven initiatives. The commissioner stated that several achievements of the ministry to include 2,000 Business Registration Certificate (CAC) and Point of Sales (POS), cash grant to 2,000 people among others.
He noted that members of the association would soon receive direct empowerment from the state government for self-employment.
“Today’s programme is not just presentation of a-day training and distribution of gauges and cash to Vulcanizers but a testimony to this administration’s commitment to sustainable development, youth empowerment, women’s inclusion and inclusive economic growth”.
The commissioner urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items to grow their businesses.
The state sector commander of FRSC, Mr Leye Adegboyega, applauded the state government for organizing a one-day training and empowerment for Vulcanizers in Osun state, saying the training is intended to deepen professional knowledge and daily practice of the practitionals to protect vehicles and enhance public confidence in their trade.
He described Adeleke administration’s unwavering commitment to road safety, human capacity development and empowerment of grassroots professionals whose daily activities have direct bearing on the safety of our roads.
Adegboyega, therefore urged beneficiaries to make effective use of the skill and knowledge gain to grow their job for more safety.
Similarly, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Cooperatives and Empowerment, Hon. Durojaye Isaac, admonished the trainees not to involve sharp practices which that hinder their job and safety.
He urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the empowerment and training programme to improve their job.
