Osun 2026: Adeleke is a Candidate to Beat – Durojaye Boasts

As political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship election in Osun State, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Cooperatives and Empowerment, Hon. Durojaye Isaac has declared that Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is a candidate to beat in the forthcoming contest.

Durojaye made this known on Sunday in Ile-Ife while addressing party faithful and supporters, According to him, the performance of the Adeleke-led administration and the growing acceptance of the Accord Party across the state have positioned the party ahead of its rivals.

“The political reality in Osun today is clear to everyone,” Durojaye said. “Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Accord Party have earned the trust of the people through people-oriented governance. As we approach August 8, 2026, Accord is no longer just a participant; it is the candidate to beat.”

He attributed Adeleke’s rising profile to what he described as visible achievements of the current administration, including interventions in workers’ welfare, infrastructure, education, cooperatives and empowerment, and healthcare.

Durojaye also pointed to the governor’s populist style and grassroots connection as major factors strengthening the Accord party’s electoral prospects.

According to him, the sterling performance of the Governor has made him to be more popular among the people despite APC’s diabolical forcefully strategies to take over the state, but God put them to same while Adeleke still loved by the people every day.

“APC has nothing to offer the state except propaganda, deceit and poverty. Their twelve years in osun is a monumental disaster, filled with uncertainty suffering especially the state workers. This inglorious era cannot be easily forgotten by the civil servants. Under governor Ademola Adeleke, workers are now enjoying better pay than what federal government called minimum wage”, Durojaye declared.

The Special Adviser noted that Accord Party continued to be popular due to Adeleke’s vision and mission as well as his developmental stride in the state,, particularly at the ward and local government levels, a development he said reflects growing confidence in the party’s leadership and vision for Osun State.

“Every day, people who believe that the governor represents stability, continuity, and inclusive governance,” he added. “The opposition is free to boast, but the people of Osun can see and feel the difference.”

Durojaye, however, urged party members and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilization and voter education ahead of August 8, 2026 polls. He emphasized that Accord party would win with landslide.
