…Urges APC Candidate, Asiwaju Oyebamiji To Revamp Sector When Elected

The Chief Imam of Ajagbemokeferi Central Mosque, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, Osun State, Sheikh Lukman Tijani Adekunle, has lamented the deplorable state of key sectors including health, education, agriculture and infrastructure in the state under the current administration of Gov. Ademola Adeleke.

The respected Islamic cleric made this known on Friday when the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for the Osun off-cycle election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, observed the Jumat prayer at the mosque.

He expressed optimism in Oyebamiji’s charisma and capacity to govern with conscience if elected governor.

Sheikh Adekunle commended Oyebamiji for his rare faithfulness, philanthropic disposition and sense of humanity, urging him to accord priority to critical sectors of the state’s economy.

He further charged the APC flagbearer to prioritise the welfare of the masses, particularly the underprivileged, when he assumes office as governor.

“Oyebamiji is no doubt a pride of Islam and symbol of religiosity deducing from his outward dispositions to the propagation of our faith and immense contributions to the advancement of the cause of Muslims in particular and humanity in general.

“I can testify to Oyebamiji’s philanthropic gesture and support for Islam. This is not his first time praying with us in this Mosque. He has consistently identified with us and oftentimes, he stays at the back. He is a humble person.

“He is known for his faithfulness, sincerity, and piety, and as a silent philanthropist, Allah has used him to build several mosques across the state. These are the virtues that set him apart.

“I must emphasise that Islam doesn’t forbid participation in politics. What is important is that leadership should be defined by faithfulness and the need for leaders to govern with conscience.

“My candid advice for our incoming Governor, Insha-Allah, is to prioritise critical sectors of the economy. When elected Governor, kindly revamp the education sector. Our education system needs a total overhaul. Please pay good attention to this critical sector. Also, prioritise the agricultural sector. We are hoping for a state where there will be food sufficiency and food security.

“I want to equally advise you to prioritise the health sector. This is a key area that you need to pay critical attention to. We know the state of our health sector and I want to implore you to revitalise the sector. So, also, the security sector, among other sectors, when elected,” the Chief Imam added.

In his brief remarks, Oyebamiji thanked Almighty Allah for His guidance and protection and reaffirmed his commitment to redefining the state’s economy for the benefit and wellbeing of the people.

The APC gubernatorial candidate, who was accompanied by party chieftains, recalled the rare love and devotion of Prophet Muhammad and his disciples to Islam, and urged the people of Osun State to support him wholeheartedly in his bid to administer the affairs of the state and reposition its socio-economic fortunes.
