Stay-In-School Initiative Lauds Governor Adeleke’s Commitment to Education

The Commandant/Lead Consultant of the Stay-In-School Initiatives, Osun State, Patriot (Dr) Ayinde Paul, has described the unwavering support of Governor Ademola Adeleke of the State for initiatives that promote school retention, child protection, and safeguarding of learning environments through collaborative policing and neighborhood engagement as a round peg in a round hole.

According to Dr Paul on Thursday, while appreciating Governor Adeleke for participating at the Commendation and Solidarity parade in his honour held at the Sports Pavilion of St. Charles Grammar School, Osogbo, the Osun State capital, Governor Adeleke’s leadership and policy direction have continued to inspire confidence among stakeholders and have significantly strengthened efforts aimed at keeping children safe, secure, and productively engaged in school.

“The Stay-In-School Initiative considers this honor well deserved, as it reflects Your Excellency’s visible passion for inclusive education, proactive governance, and sustainable community development.

“The Stay-In-School Initiatives, which operates as a school policing and neighborhood watch programme in line with the Federal Government’s Safe School Initiative, reflects the state’s resolve to protect the future of children through a safe and secure learning environment.

“This parade further serves to encourage collective ownership of school safety and to reinforce public trust in government-led educational interventions.

“All thanks to your ingenuity, love and passion for safety and quality education. Consequently, our little efforts had yielded lots of benefits in excellent learning outcome, social re-orientation and re-established public trust in governance.

“We appreciate the Management and Staff of the State Ministry of Education under which purfew of our Command falls and through which institutions we operate. Your guidance and support had led us this far. God bless the State education sector.

“Your Excellency Sir, while we appreciate your kind gesture, we cannot but pray for further supports for this laudable project:
Please, help us engage more officers of this Command for optimal service delivery” Dr Paul stressed.

Dr Paul who commended the unflinching support of Mr Governor emphasised further that, “We have over 1360 public primary schools and almost 400 public secondary schools in the state; however, the number of deployed officers are still few.

“Schools keep demanding for our services but we could not attend to all schools at a time. Please help deploy more; particularly to Primary Schools in which greater attention is required.

“We also need operational vehicles for State-wide monitoring and distress calls across the State. Your Excellency can start with whatever number that could be afforded until the State finances improves.

“We also need office accommodation as the command Headquarters in the state through which all administrative issues and correspondences could be directed. We shall be grateful to Your Excellency and remain loyal to the vision and aspiration of your administration”, he concluded.
