Two Docked For Allegedly Defrauding Man Of N10m Vehicle

Two men, Osuolale Isiaka (41) and Akinyele Fatai (52), were arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court over the alleged fraud of a N10 million car transaction.

The defendants were arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on fraud and false pretence.

According to the charge sheet, the defendants allegedly obtained a Toyota Venza valued at N10 million from one Aleem Saheed under false pretence.

The prosecutor, Inspector Anifowose Saheed, told the court that the defendants promised to deliver a Lexus RX 350 model to the complainant in exchange for the Toyota Venza.

However, it was alleged that after collecting the vehicle, the defendants sold it without the consent of the owner and failed to deliver the promised Lexus car.
He stated that the offence is punishable under the law, noting that the accused persons knew the promise to be false at the time it was made and acted with intent to defraud the complainant.

The offence was said to be contrary to and punishable under Section 427 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

In the second count, the defendants were accused of fraudulently taking the Toyota Venza, property of Aleem Saheed, valued at N10 million. The offence is said to be contrary to Sections 383 and 390(9) of the same Criminal Code.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against them.
The presiding magistrate, Dr Olusegun Ayilara, adjourned the case to March 30, 2026, for further hearing.
