…Distributes Fertilisers, Gas Cylinders to 450 constituents

No fewer than 450 residents of Aiyedire Local Government Area of Osun State on Sunday benefited from the maiden farmers’ and women empowerment programme organised in support of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).

The event, held in Ileogbo, saw beneficiaries receive bags of fertilizer and cooking gas cylinders to boost agricultural productivity and improve household welfare.

Speaking at the programme, the facilitator, Prince Oyelude Oladele, said the initiative was designed to provide immediate support for farmers and women grappling with economic challenges.

Oyelude noted that the intervention became necessary to complement efforts in the agricultural sector, which he claimed has not received adequate attention under the current administration.

According to him, empowering grassroots farmers remains critical to ensuring food security and economic stability in the state.

He said, “We have 350 farmers empowered with 25kg of fertilizer, and we have 100 women empowered with cooking gas cylinders. This will go a very long way because we observed that the present government in Osun is lagging in agriculture.

“We are trying to let our people know that our incoming Governor AMBO is a practical farmer, he has a large farm with different crops.”

Meanwhile, the Wife of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Sekinat Bola-Oyebamiji, while lauding the facilitator of the program noted that the programme aligns with the development agenda of Oyebamiji.

She said, “Were here to participate in the empowerment program organised by Prince Oyelude, with the intention of empowering his people especially the farmers with fertilizers and the women with cooking gas to ensure clean energy.

“AMBO is a big-time farmer and he recognises that Osun is an agrarian state and we should be able to produce enough to feed ourselves, sell in other states of Nigeria, and export.

“This is in the pipeline on how it is going to come in place, a place to engage farmers, establish cooperatives, and bring in established PPP among others.

Also, one of the beneficiaries, Jimoh Gafar, who expressed appreciation for the gesture, described the items received as timely, noting that the fertilizer would enhance farm yields while the cooking gas would ease domestic energy challenges.

He however urged beneficiaries of the program to make judicious use of the items rather than selling them.
