APC Will Win Osun Guber Poll With or Without Omisore — Chieftain
The Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinator for Osun State and former Commissioner for Information Sunday Akere, has expressed confidence in chances of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, declaring that victory is assured regardless of internal disagreements within the party.
Hon. Akere stated that the party would emerge victorious in the August 15 gubernatorial poll with or without the support of former National Secretary of the APC, Iyiola Omisore.
Akere made the remarks while featuring on a private TV Programme ‘Western Television’ Morning Spring, where he addressed concerns about an alleged crisis within the Osun APC.
Reacting to questions surrounding the absence of key party leaders at the wedding ceremony of Omisore’s son in Abuja, Akere dismissed insinuations of deep divisions, suggesting that the leaders were not invited to the event.
“Will you be at an event where you are not invited? Was Oyetola or Ambo invited? When you don’t invite me, will I gatecrash into an event?”
“Assuming he was the one picked, will the others say they are not supporting him?”
“The leadership of the party is talking to him and I know that before we get to the election time, definitely, he will be at the forefront. If he doesn’t, the party will still win,” he said.
