Defection: Osun Accord Lawmaker Meets Oyetola, Wole Oke

Amidst defection rumoured from the Accord Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Iwo State Constituency, Hon. Adesina Rabiu popularly known as ARA has visited Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and a member of the House of Representatives, Wole Oke.

Hon. Rabiu was recently sighted in a photograph alongside the Minister of Marine and Hon. Wole Oke.

Earlier, Hon. Rabiu, had Monday withdrew his earlier resignation from the Accord Party, declaring renewed loyalty to the party and Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The Lawmaker, who also serves as Chairman, House Committee on Home Affairs, Culture and Tourism, had earlier submitted a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Adewale Egbedun, announcing his resignation from the Accord Party with immediate effect.

In a statement by the Accord party chairman in Iwo local government, Chief Alidu Adeoye stated that the lawmaker had constituted serious nuisance and disappointments to his constituents from 2022 to date, noting that the party had refrained from acting against the lawmaker because of the intervention of some elders.

“When he was invited to the Government House a few days ago, we knew he wouldn’t stay any longer because his request for a second term ticket is a direct violation of the zoning formula operating within the Iwo state constituency.

“Aside from his abysmal performance which has made the party a laughing stock among Iwo people, Accord cannot violate the zoning formula which confirmed that Isale Oba is the next region to produce a state lawmaker.
