FRSC Hosts Critical Sensitization Briefing for Personnel In Osun

…Reinforce discipline, Strengthen Command, Control Across All Formations

The Zonal Commanding Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Zone RS11 Osogbo, Assistant Corps Marshal Edward Odiete, Esq, and the Sector Commander, FRSC RS11.1 Osun, Corps Commander Leye Adegboyega, fsi, jointly played host to the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, who was ably represented by Assistant Corps Marshal Joshua Asaolu, psc, who is the Head of the Planning Advisory Unit at the FRSC National Headquarters, at a sensitization briefing of all FRSC personnel in Osun State.

The sensitization briefing, held at ADOLAK International Hotels, Osogbo, on Tuesday 3rd March 2026, was specifically organized to reinforce discipline and strengthen command and control across all FRSC formations.

This move became necessary in view of the recent backlash inundating the Corps, arising from ugly incidents that disrupted FRSC operations in some parts of the country. To reverse the unwholesome trend of negative incidents, the dedicated Management Team of the FRSC, headed by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, therefore took proactive steps needed to catalyze a change by deploying very Senior Officers from the National Headquarters of the Corps to the 36 State Capitals, with a clear task – set uncompromising standards of discipline, professionalism and accountability across board.

Welcoming participants, who were drawn from the Zone RS11 Command Headquarters of the Corps as well as all the component Commands of the Osun State Sector Command, the Sector Commander FRSC RS11.1 Osun, Corps Commander Leye Adegboyega, fsi, charged the attendees to listen attentively to the message of the Corps Marshal, ensure absolute conformity with the guides and total compliance to the directives to be issued in the course of the briefing. He further directed them to note that the Corps Marshal and the entire FRSC Management hold the sensitization very dear and have therefore committed great resources to it. He emphasized that the need for all staff present to pay attention to the Corps Marshal’s message and ask questions on grey areas for better understanding cannot be overemphasized.

In the remarks of the Zonal Commanding Officer RS11 Osogbo, Assistant Corps Marshal Edward Odiete, Esq, he appreciated the Corps Marshal and the FRSC Management Team for the initiative of the sensitization briefing, which he described as strategic and focused on helping all to recommit to service and correct lapses of operational misconduct. He called for daily briefings by all Commanding Officers to establish clear instructions for their subordinate staff and submit reports of due compliance for escalation to the FRSC National Headquarters. He further said the address of the Corps Marshal will provide clear directions on the paths to follow and charged all to internalize the directives, with the aim of becoming good ambassadors of professionalism.

Delivering the message of the Corps Marshal, Assistant Corps Marshal Joshua Asaolu, psc, described the briefing as a deliberate and strategic attempt to correct recent operational lapses in the Corps, as well as to lay the foundation of protecting the integrity of FRSC services. He observed that lapses of improper supervision and breakdown of discipline are capable of eroding public trust in the Corps, which is totally unacceptable as they undermine credibility. He further described the initiative as a step towards reorientation, reinforcement and renewal, adding that the Senior Officers deployed to Field Commands for the sensitization briefing are leaders and torchbearers, to restore command and control across board. He labeled extortion of motorists by Patrol Operatives as an abuse of authority and a direct betrayal of the oath sworn by personnel at the point of entry to the Corps, to be of good service to the public. He rounded off that professionalism must henceforth be the watchword of all FRSC personnel and that the Corps Marshal has issued a charge for all FRSC Operatives to exhibit operational excellence, ensure ethical enforcement and display absolute respect to members of the public at all times.

The sensitization briefing also featured a technical session, where a paper titled “ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONAL MISCONDUCTS: CORPS MARSHAL’S CHARGE” was delivered by the representative of the Corps Marshal, to drive home the desires of the FRSC Management on the need for change and ensure that all staff are in tune with the guidelines and directives.

It is expected that the exercise will galvanize the needed adjustment and improvement that will lead to the desired change of attitude from all FRSC staff.
