Gov Adeleke Stops Planned PPP Deal at Ilesa College of Health Tech

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has directed the board and management of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, to halt further processing of a proposed public-private partnership (PPP) deal involving the institution’s land.

The directive followed a review of the agreement between the college and a private sector partner, which the state government described as unfair and contrary to the best interest of both the institution and Osun State.

Governor Adeleke subsequently ordered the immediate discontinuation of the proposed PPP arrangement, stating that the government would explore internal solutions to address the accommodation needs of the college.

The governor also warned government agencies, parastatals, and tertiary institutions to exercise caution when entering into legal agreements, stressing the need to avoid proposals that could be detrimental to their operations and the state at large.

The warning comes in the wake of the recent Sally Tibbot incident, which has heightened concerns over contractual dealings involving public institutions.

The directive was conveyed in a statement signed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, who reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to protecting public assets and ensuring that all partnerships align with the state’s interests.
