Dr. Saliu’s journey began from humble grounds in Ilorin schools where discipline, service, and scholarship were not mere slogans but lived values. From Ansarul Islam Primary School to Barakat Community Secondary School, his early years were marked by excellence, leadership, and moral clarity.

His academic pursuit carried him across continents, from the University of Ilorin to the International University of Africa in Khartoum, and later the International Institute of Journalism in Abuja, sharpening his intellect as both a medical doctor and a trained communicator.

• A CAREER BUILT ON SERVICE

For more than two decades of medical practice, he has served at the frontline of healthcare,
from Osogbo Muslim Hospital to University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, to Taraba State, and finally as the Chief Medical Director of Shifauk Hospital Group, a role he continues to hold with distinction.

His experience spans clinical practice, administration, public health, community leadership, and humanitarian service. Dr. Saliu understands the struggles of rural clinics, the pressure on tertiary health systems, and the pain of families seeking care they cannot afford. These insights form the backbone of his resolve to transform Osun’s health sector.

Dr. Saliu is not a typical politician. He is a journalist, editorial consultant, Islamic leader, youth mentor, and public advocate whose voice and pen have shaped conversations for decades.

He was the Best Graduating Pupil , Ansarul Islam Primary School; Time Keeper , then Head Boy and Best Graduating Student, Barakat Community Secondary School; Editor-in-Chief, Press Club and Campus Journalism Bodies; National Secretary, Barakat Old Students’ Association; Multiple-time leader in MSSN at school, state, and national levels; NYSC Best Corps Member, Taraba State; SUG President, International Institute of Journalism; Nigeria’s National Muslim Health Personality of the Year (2020–2022).
