Osun community, monarch hail emergence of Alabi as CIBN president

Commendations have continued to trail the emergence of Dr. Dele Alabi as the 24th president of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

Alabi, who was the institute’s immediate past First Vice President, emerged as president of the apex regulatory body of the banking industry at the weekend.

The Global President of Otan-Ayegbaju Progressive Union (OAPU), Aare GH Adetunji Mosebolatan, described Alabi’s emergence as “worthy.”

In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the union, Lateef Dada, Mosebolatan urged Alabi to demonstrate the virtues and values exemplified by his forefathers from Otan-Ayegbaju, while sustaining the credibility of the institute.

Mosebolatan also charged the new CIBN president to promote inclusiveness, integrity, and the broader interests of the banking profession, in line with commitments made during his emergence.

He further advised Alabi to set strong professional standards and maintain ethical conduct to ensure competence and integrity in Nigeria’s financial sector.

Also, the Owa of Otan-Ayegbaju, Oba Lukman Ojo-Fadipe, congratulated Alabi on his election as CIBN president.

Oba Ojo-Fadipe said he was proud of Alabi for exhibiting good conduct, which he noted contributed to his victory, and urged him not to lose focus as he assumes the new role.
