Tackle Rising Insecurity – Ondo PDP knocks Aiyedatiwa
The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to focus on addressing the escalating issues of insecurity across the state rather than pursuing a 2028 governorship bid.
In a statement signed by the Director of Media and Public Communications, Wándé T. Àjàyí, the PDP expressed concern over what it described as “the governor’s apparent distraction with future political contests.”
According to the party, communities that were once peaceful are now being terrorised by kidnappers and armed gangs, with residents living in constant fear, and unable to go about their daily business.

In the same vein, they also reminded the governor of how he assumed office after the death of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, calling it ironic that he is already being preoccupied with the next election cycle, rather than his primary duties.
The oppositeion party therefore urged the governor to devote all his attention to restoring safety, improving public confidence, and delivering the dividends of democracy, stressing that the office of governor is a trust from the people, not a platform for endless political scheming.
