Two Customs Officers Arrested Over Shooting Incident in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has arrested two officers of the Nigeria Customs Service in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Dada Estate, Osogbo.

The suspects, identified as Kolawole Suuti and Danjuma Samuel, were reportedly pursuing suspected foreign-used (“tokunbo”) vehicles when one of the drivers in an ash-coloured Toyota Corolla was shot.

The victim was pronounced dead at Osun State University Teaching Hospital, and his body has been deposited at the morgue. His identity has not yet been confirmed

Police operatives swiftly responded to the incident, apprehending the two officers at the scene. Items recovered include a Beretta pistol (breech no. 125024), 11 rounds of 9mm live ammunition, one expanded 9mm shell, and two vehicles—a white Toyota Corolla (AAA 400 GQ, Lagos) and an ash Toyota Corolla (GFQ 0982, Texas).

The Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, CP Ibrahim Gotan, mnips, has ordered a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The police command assured the public that anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law and urged citizens to cooperate by providing credible information to aid ongoing investigations.
