Nigerian DJ Association Bans Burna Boy’s Songs Following Clash with Tunez

The Nigerian Disc Jockey Association has ordered a temporary ban on all Burna Boy’s songs, directing DJs in Nigeria and abroad to remove the artiste from their playlists following an alleged clash with DJ Tunez at a private event in Lagos.

The incident, which gained attention on Tuesday, saw videos circulating online showing a physical confrontation in which DJ Tunez was reportedly overpowered by members of Burna Boy’s crew before security personnel intervened.

Burna Boy has yet to issue an official statement on the incident. However, DJ Tunez posted a cryptic message on social media shortly after, stating, “OGBAFIA NUMBER 1 DON WAKE OOO!”.

Reacting to the incident, the association expressed solidarity with DJ Tunez and urged DJs to maintain professionalism and respect at all events.

“Burna Boy’s music is temporarily removed from all our DJs’ playlists until further notice. Our team will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident involving DJ Tunez, and we urge all DJs to remain vigilant and treat every artiste with respect at their events,” the statement read.

The association further emphasised equality and tolerance among DJs, stating that discrimination based on caste, creed, religion, gender, or background is unacceptable.

It also urged DJs nationwide to ensure freedom and equality for all artists so that the entertainment industry can thrive without bias.
