A convicted murderer has gone missing from a prison in Suffolk, police have warned.
Christopher Mortimer, 37, escaped from Hollesley Bay prison in Woodbridge at around 8am on Saturday, where he was serving a life sentence for murder.
Police have appealed for help in tracing him after initial enquiries failed to locate him.
They have warned people not to approach him, but to contact police on 101 if they see him or have information about where he is.
Mortimer has connections to the Manchester area, police said.
He is described as white, 174cm tall, of slim build and balding, and has tattoos of Chinese symbols on his upper back and across his shoulders.
Hollesley Bay is a prison and young offender institution for men aged over 18..
