While it’s recommended to drink lots of fluids when unwell, it’s even more important to drink lots of healthful fluids. These liquids can aid in the recovery process of an injured body.

Healthline claims that some drinks can protect you from developing a cold since they are fortified with minerals and chemicals shown to strengthen the immune system.

1. Water
No matter how you’re feeling, water is always the greatest beverage to have on hand. Since water makes up anywhere from 50 to 60 percent of the human body, it stands to reason that we require a lot of it. All of the processes in our bodies would cease to work properly without water. It can help remove toxins from the body and bring relief from illness.

In order to maintain a healthy immune system, it is essential to drink plenty of water on a daily basis. Water is essential for the transportation of nutrients to our cells for growth and efficient functioning, and for the elimination of metabolic waste and poisonous substances.

Water intake recommendations typically range from 6 to 8 glasses daily. Flavoring water with fruit slices or herbs is a quick and easy process. Fruits and vegetables contain a lot of water, therefore it’s important to eat those often.

If you’re feeling under the weather, boil some water and squeeze in some fresh lemon juice to make it more calming. You may keep yourself hydrated by drinking warm water with a squeeze of lemon in it. A vitamin C supplement’s antioxidant properties contribute to its anti-inflammatory benefits.

2. Juice from an orange
A healthy immune system is essential for making it through the winter; pick up a gallon of orange juice to help.

There is solid data to back up the assertions made against orange juice. Recent research has demonstrated that orange juice is an excellent source of vitamin C. Only one 8-ounce glass of orange juice provides 138% of the recommended daily allowance for vitamin C.

Citrus juice and other dietary sources of vitamin C are crucial for maintaining a healthy immune system. Consuming a proper amount of vitamin C can lessen the severity and duration of cold and flu symptoms.

3. Drink Made From a Variety of Berries
Vitamin C, found in abundance in fruits like berries and citrus, helps the body’s immune system function more efficiently. It’s a fantastic method of consuming your recommended five or more servings of produce every day.

Some research suggests that the high vitamin C content of berries can help reduce cold symptoms and hasten the healing process.

Berries’ antioxidants provide extra defense for the body. They offer defense against a wide variety of illnesses and ailments, and some can even mitigate the damage caused by oxidative stress.

4. Ginger Brew
If you’re feeling under the weather, you can pick from a wide selection of teas to help you feel better. Ginger tea may be soothing for a sore throat or motion sickness. It’s also a good way to keep yourself hydrated.

Staying hydrated and soothing your sore throat with hot tea is a great combination when you’re sick. A cup of ginger tea can do wonders for a sore throat or a stuffy chest. Furthermore, ginger tea has anti-inflammatory properties. If you like your tea sweet, try adding some local honey to it to protect yourself from allergens.

5. Juice from Grapes
Various illnesses, from the stomach flu to the common cold, have been blamed on the grape juice that has been touted as a miracle treatment. Washing your hands and exercising good hygiene are more crucial to your health than drinking grape juice.

A glass of grape juice a day can keep the doctor away during winter. Grapes contain resveratrol, an antioxidant having anti-inflammatory effects. There may also be a correlation between vitamin intake and health benefits from other nutrients.

6. Concentrated Ginger Root Extract
The nutritional value and immune-enhancing properties of ginger juice are similar to those of ginger tea. On the other hand, you can find fresh ginger juice shots at most juice bars, so whipping up this drink is a breeze. In terms of antioxidant content, ginger is one of the most potent plants. It also helps reduce inflammation and stave off illness.

Additionally to its traditional use as a digestive aid, ginger has been shown to reduce the likelihood of viral infections lingering around in the respiratory system. Your odds of avoiding catching a cold improve.

7. Tomato Squeeze
Tomato juice mixes are delicious all year long, but they really come in handy when cold and flu season rolls around. This is also a great way to increase your intake of healthy produce.

Tomato juice-based vegetarian drinks make it even easier to meet recommended daily vegetable and fruit intakes in our busy modern lives. Tomatoes, thanks to their high lycopene content, are known to boost the immune system over time.

8. Curcumin tea
Turmeric, a staple in Indian cooking, is a great addition to sick drinks because it contains chemicals that reduce inflammation. Curcumin, a polyphenol with strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, is one example of such a substance. Spice up your cold-fighting beverages by adding this ingredient.

Turmeric, one of the world’s strongest antioxidant herbs, has been demonstrated to be effective in treating inflammatory disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ulcerative colitis. Black peppercorns have been shown to dramatically boost nutrient absorption.
