How Thugs Attack Gov Oyetola While Addressing Endsars Protesters In Osogbo

Axiety in Osogbo, Osun state capital on Saturday as thugs attacked Governor Gboyega Oyetola while addressing the EndSars Protesters.

The governor had earlier walked along with the hundreds of youths from Oke Fia to popular Olaiya junction where the protesting youths had converged for the governor to address them.

The youths nationwide had embarked on the peaceful Protest against brutality, extortion and extra-judicial killings by operatives of Anti-Robbery Response Squad (SARS) calling for the scrapping of the unit.

While addressing hundreds of the protesters at popular Olaiya juction Governor Oyetola was asked to order the arrest of the leader of the suspected thugs who were earlier attacked the protesters on Wednesday and early today.

Oyetola disassociated himself and the state government from the suspected thug leaders, saying he will talk to the state commissioner of police on how to address the issue.

The governor while leaving the venue with his entourage was stoned simultaneously by the unidentified thugs while many cars glasses were destroyed.

The thugs in their hundreds ran after convoy of the governor amidst heavy tension while many at the protesting ground flee for their lives.

The destruction led to death of unidentified two young men.

The suspected thugs destroyed all the bill boards of the governor in the state capital.

Reacting, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Ismail Omipadan said the thugs launched attack on Governor Oyetola after he has spent over an hour addressing the EndSars protesters.

“When Governor Oyetola was addressing the EndSars protesters the hoodlums came from no where they came with cutlasses, stones and we escape at incidents.

Some of our aides sustained injuries but we are good.

We are holding security meeting and after the meeting we will announce the next of action” he said
