Garcinia kola, often known as bitter kola, is an illustration of a potent medicinal plant.

A 2018 study found that bitter kola can be used to treat viral infections, bacterial infections, and coughs. Consuming bitter kola when the infection first manifests may hasten your recovery by assisting in the fight against the infection.

2. Inflammation

Our chance of developing inflammatory diseases like arthritis rises as we age. People who have this illness can describe the pains they experience on a daily basis. However, due to the high potassium content of bitter kola, chewing it can aid in the treatment of inflammations.

It is said that chewing on acrid kola seeds might treat inflammatory conditions like arthritis.

3. Diabetes

Diabetes still has no known cure, despite advances in medical science; the condition can only be controlled. However, it has been discovered that bitter kola lowers the elevated blood sugar levels associated with type 2 diabetes. Bitter kola is a rich source of antioxidants. The high content of antioxidants in bitter kola increases the body’s immunity. When the body’s immunity level is increased, it can protect itself against any external pollution. As a result, consuming bitter kola on a daily basis may assist strengthen the immune.

5. Overweight

Because the body needs more water and less food to burn fat and maintain health, bitter kola is well known for being a natural appetite suppressant and a potent thirst stimulant. As a result, it aids in slowing down weight loss.
