Real Madrid snubbed several phone calls from Cristiano Ronaldo’s former agent, Jorge Mendes, over a possible reunion.
Menes, who brokered Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United in 2021, was not involved in the player’s move to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia this month.
The 37-year-old instead hired Ricardo Regufe as his new manager.
Ronaldo claimed he had offers from Europe, Australia, Brazil and the United States.
But it is believed Real Madrid was not among the interested parties, as the Spanish giants ignored calls from Mendes as he pushed for a deal.
According to The Athletic, Mendes called Real Madrid “several times” over a potential return.
There was no interest last summer from the La Liga side, where Ronaldo won four Champions League titles between 2014 and 2018.
Ronaldo had made clear his desire to leave Manchester United after the Premier League club failed to qualify for the Champions League but no club in the competition stepped forward.
