Dayo Ayeyemi | Lagos

The landscape of Lekki-Epe corridor of Lagos State has further been redesigned and expanded with the unveiling of Makarios Luxury Place.

Sitting on 93 acres of land on the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Makarios’ development is pride to be a hub of both living and entertainment to bridge the accommodation gap in the country.

The new development comes with 800 living spaces, including 10- floor Imperial Towers, 230 service plots, 192 terraced homes, 18 detached houses and glittering infrastructure such as tarred roads, walkways, water supply, central sewage systems and waste management, among others.

It also parades a commercial center comprising of a world-class hotel, shopping mall, water fountain, water park, conference center and ample car park.

The new real estate development is being supported by Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo- led Makarios Luxury Properties Ltd.

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo is the senior pastor, Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London.

Speaking during its launch, which he described as «an Ikoyi away from Ikoyi without the price of Ikoyi, the Chairman of Makarios Properties, Pastor Ashimolowo, said the new development remained an attempt to showcase Nigeria in a way that would make it a destination to go.

According to him, Makarios development would be an estate where people can live, have a sense of excellence, serenity and also serve as a tourist destination.

Talking about the residential apartments,he referred to it as a place of excellence where there›s tranquility, stability and where things work.

The terrace buildings are tagged “The Anthizo”; detached homes – “The Deleazo”; and the Imperial Towers with “Akmazo” apartments.

The terrace buildings,Ashimolowo said they offered 3-storey living with luxurious features, adding that the ground floor boasts a kitchen, lounge, dining room and guest bedroom; while the first floor has a space for domestic staff and a lounge. According to him, the second floor has three large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

“The Deleazo›s detached home features six reception areas, two massive terraces, a cinema and six bedrooms, including a master bedroom as well as staff quarters. The apartments are state-of-the-art, contemporary and seamless smart homes,” he said.

Speaking glowingly about the Imperial Towers, he said it featured 52 luxury apartments, 14 studio units, 14 units of 2-bedroom apartments, 4 units of 5-bedroom apartments and 5 units of 2-bedroom loft units.

According to him, the apartments offered views of the Atlantic shorelines, while running as serviced apartments.

On the estate’s infrastructure outlay, Ashimolowo said: “Nobody builds real estate the way we are doing it where we›ve already put the infrastructure before you even buy your plots.”

To show the seriousness, the chairman of Makarios properties said the new development has secured the necessary building and planning approvals, adding that it›s came with the Certificate of Occupancy (CofO).

House price in Makarios Luxury Place range between N200 million and N350 million.

For people that are looking for cheaper houses, he said the apartments in the hotel, where they can rent or buy offered opportunity for young couples and upwardly mobile individuals to live.

“Makarios has three sources of power: Disco, lister generators and solar. The estate has 27 roads comprising three major roads and 23 smaller roads and two walks. Their paving stones are ready.

“Water supply will be central, waste management, sewage treatment system, so there won’t be soakaway.

“So if you buy a Makarios plot, for example, you are not scratching your head about cabling for power, you are not scratching your head about water supply, you are not scratching your head about drainage. All these have been provided to plug in,” he said.
