Former National Publicity Secretary of Mass Communication Alumni of Osun State Polytechnic Iree (MAOS) Adekunle Sikiru popularly known as ‘Abacus’ has been emerged as the 5th National President of the association.
Sikiru emerge victorious along side with other executive members include National Vice President; Oluwaseun Onafuwa, National General Secretary; Owolabi Oyebola, National Assistant General Secretary, Seyi Olomola, National Financial Secretary; Titilope Balogun Shittu, National Treasurer; Sanya Ogunjobi and National Publicity Secretary; Oyewale Oyelola at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held 23rd of December, 2023 in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
In his acceptance speech, Sikiru assured the members to priority the welfare of everyone graduates of Mass Communication of Osun State Polytechnic.
He said, “I want to inform you all that, this team will focus more on members’ welfare, facilitating jobs and creating opportunities for members, when everyone has a job.
“I implore us to commit ourselves to bringing more people into MAOS and grooming them, this Association belongs to all of us.
“The new administration will resuscitate all existing WhatsApp edutainment programmes, rejuvenate scholarship and poverty alleviation programmes for members and facilitate various developmental landmarks in the association.
“Consolidating the atmosphere of mutual cooperation is one of our major priorities and un this regard, this new administration imtends to organize a mega event that will further strengthen the good image of our Alumni Association.
“I want to inform you all that, this team will focus more on members’ welfare, facilitating jobs and creating opportunities for members, when everyone has a job, the association will receive more annual dues, voluntary contributions and large turn out of members at our various programmes.
“Apart from this, giving back to our Alma mata is also paramount, our administration will try all possible best to facilitate tangible and gigantic physical project to promote good image of MAOS nationwide.
“MAOS cooperative is another fantastic initiative that has been helping members to move on on their business, we will not hesitate to rebrand the programme in such a way that all chapters will emulate such good gesture in order to move MAOS more forward.
“I must sincerely appreciate the proactiveness and special leadership skills of my predecessor, Mr Femi Salawu, his maturity and dedication to service is above 100 percent.
“I cannot forget to mention the laudable contributions of BOT Chairman and other members, MAOS elders such as my own boss and brother, Mr Aderemi Adeagbo, Mr Gbenga Adesemowo, Alh Moshood Oladosu, General Ayodele Agboola, my powerful and wonderful predecessor, Mr Femi Salawu, Mr Sunday Ojelabi, Comrade Jide Afolabi, Mr Segun Salako Baba Eto of MAOS, Mr Seun Ayo Ishola, Mr Aderoyal, My special sister Tolulope Falode, Mr Ayo, Dr Adeola all the way from Ebonyi state and several others who supported with their efforts.
“I can not forget the efforts of all state coordinators from Mr Bayo from Lagos, Wonderful Egbon Philosopher from Oyo, my own Fantastic Mr Akinromade from Osun, my egbon of life in Ondo, most respected Abuja Coordinator, my supportive friend Folorunsho Tobi from Kwara, ever courageous and most active female Coordinator from Ekiti and active Diaspora Coordinator.
“To all members of this Executive team with whom I I shall be steering this ship to an enviable height together and several other colleagues who believe in our leadership position, we will not let you down” he added.
