The Board Chairman of Osun Amotekun Corps, AIG Wale Abass (Rtd), has debunked allegations of partisan behavior and malpractice during the ongoing training exercise, describing the allegations as an attempt to tarnish the corps’ reputation.

AlG stated that the selection process was based purely on merit, considering factors such as physical fitness and health status.

He clarified that almost 7,000 people applied, and after rigorous screening, the number was trimmed down to nearly 1200.

He assured that the recruitment process was open, transparent, and free from political influence.

Addressing the rumor that three recruits died during training, Abass stated that nobody died, and those who fell ill received medical attention and are recovering.

He attributed the allegations to mischief-makers seeking to tarnish the corps’ reputation.

The recruitment exercise aimed to select 1,000 new personnel, with about 25 recruits chosen from each local government area. The age range of successful applicants was between 18 and 40 years.

Abass urged the public to disregard the baseless allegations and assured that the corps remains committed to professionalism, fairness, and transparency. He also commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for supporting the recruitment exercise.
