10th Year Coronation: Adeleke Assures Completion of ongoing Iwo Road Project

Alaafin of Oyo urges residents to give their full support to Oluwo

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reiterated the unwavering support of his administration for the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, describing the monarch as a unifying figure who has projected the ancient town onto the global stage.

Speaking during the 10th year coronation anniversary of Oluwo of Iwoland on Saturday, Adeleke who was representated by the Commissioner for Water Resources in Osun State, Hon. Sunday Oroniyi praised the traditional ruler, noting that no form of intimidation could undermine the authority of the Oluwo.

According to him, “We adore, love, nurture, appreciate him, we see him as our father, for putting Iwo in the world map.

“I want to tell you today that no matter intimidation, there is no amount of intimidation that can remove that stood of Iwo land from you.

“I want to assure you sir that the government and the people of Iwo is solidly behind you. This is our king of Iwo land we are proud of him, this is coming from the federal government.

“I am very sure when I get to my bus, and I want to assure you that the road construction going now, it is a mandatory work for Governor to finish it, even before the expiration of the first tenure, that is the mandate, and the Governor has given the mandate within my Constituency which is water resources.

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has urged residents of the ancient town to continue giving their full support to Oba Akanbi, emphasizing the importance of unity in driving the town’s development.

Alaafin of Oyo said, “I extend my warmest congratulations to you on the 10th anniversary of your ascension to the throne. I pray that the developments that have taken place in your town during your reign will continue to flourish and multiply, bringing prosperity and growth to all.

“I call on all Iwo citizens to unite with the Oluwo in advancing the growth and development of the town.”
